On Jackass, Johnny Knoxville and his gang perform acts of self-mutilation for their audience’s entertainment. With episodes such as “Johnny Coxville” and “Poo Cocktail,” the show is extreme, gratuitous and downright disgusting.

The show may be repulsive, but the DVD packaging and logo are delightful.
The plain white box is surprisingly reserved, a necessary and deliberate contrast to the programming contained on the discs. Not another case in the video store had the Knoxville-sized cajones to display the same refreshing span of empty space. The skull and crossbones, or shall I say skull and crutches logo was left to speak for itself. And that it did; I didn’t rent or buy it, but I did give Jackass: Volume 1 a second look.
